The Study Abroad Blog
I started writing The Study Abroad Blog in 2009 during my junior year abroad at the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. After graduating from college in the Spring of 2011, the original plan was to spend the Fall 2011 semester studying Chinese through an American study abroad program in Beijing. Somehow my love of the Beijing air has persuaded me to stay, and I'm continuing with my Chinese during the Spring of 2012 at Beijing University with no real plans to head back the States in the near future. This is my attempt at documenting my life both as a study abroad student and as a 20 - something year old in a city and country that don't always make sense, but I somehow still enjoy.

5 Alternatives To The Humdrum Hostel
Because it doesn’t hurt to mix it up while you’re traveling abroad In the past, I’ve called hostels “hotels for student travelers”, and it’s still very true. They’re cheap (most students studying abroad can’t throw down the cash for a queen sized bed and room service every night), and they usually provide everything you need: [...]Posted on 24 April 2012 | 1:08 pm
